Mothman.shop began at a kitchen table with a sketchbook, a second-hand heat press, and a stack of blank tees. We were collecting stories—Point Pleasant sightings, campfire whispers, late-night radio callers—and turning them into wearable folklore. One design led to another, then to throw blankets for cold nights and long movie marathons, then to a tiny home studio that never really sleeps.
What started as a side project on Etsy grew into a small, steady beacon for fellow cryptid believers and UFO sky-watchers. Over 1,000 Etsy orders later, we opened this standalone shop to give our community more choice, better sizing, and faster restocks—without losing the heart of a home business.
We keep our process simple and honest:
-
Artwork first. Every piece starts as an original illustration inspired by American myth, roadside oddities, and that feeling you get on a two-lane highway after midnight.
-
Materials you’ll actually wear. We choose soft, long-lasting tees and cozy woven blankets made to be lived in.
-
Small-batch care at scale. We partner with trusted print studios to fulfill most orders quickly, but we still review every new design in-house and obsess over color and detail.
Why people stick around: the designs make them smile, the garments break in beautifully, and the stories keep them connected—to a place, a legend, a memory. Whether you met Mothman at a festival in West Virginia or in a rabbit hole at 3 a.m., you’re in the right company.
